“Say We Care”
Reaching Out with Life-Saving Food Assistance Across Sri Lanka

In partnership with The Coca-Cola Foundation

At a time when Sri Lanka was grappling with one of its most severe economic crises, Sevalanka Foundation, in partnership with The Coca-Cola Foundation, stepped forward to support thousands of vulnerable families facing food insecurity.
With food inflation soaring to 81% and one in three households unable to afford daily meals, the “Say We Care” project was launched to bring immediate relief to those most affected.

Thanks to the generous funding support by The Coca-Cola Foundation, this vital initiative delivered comprehensive dry ration packs to 6,280 low-income families across 10 districts, reaching over 25,000 individuals between November 2022 and March 2023.

Who We Reached

Our primary focus was on daily wage earners, single-parent and women-headed households, families with terminally ill or disabled members, pregnant and lactating mothers, and elders without a stable income. Among the total supported:
  • 32% relied on unskilled daily labour
  • 17.1% were elders without a regular income
  • 15.8% were women-headed households
  • 11.4% had persons with disabilities
  • 10% had no livelihood at all
In total, over 25,000 individuals benefited from this program.

What We Delivered

Each family received a thoughtfully assembled food and hygiene pack, including:
  • Rice, flour, sugar, dhal, chickpeas, canned fish, sprats, soya meat
  • Milk powder, tea, oil, spices, salt
  • Hygiene and health essentials like soap, toothpaste, Dettol, and a first aid kit

Powered by Partnership and Compassion

This project was made possible through the unwavering support of The Coca-Cola Foundation, whose sponsorship helped bring hope to those in need. Their commitment to uplifting communities during crises is deeply appreciated and has made a lasting difference in the lives of thousands.
At Sevalanka Foundation, we believe that true change begins with compassion—and with partners like The Coca-Cola Foundation, we will continue to support Sri Lanka’s journey toward recovery and resilience.
